Clean out your closet and let’s get piecing! Learn all sorts of tricks and techniques for making your modern garment fabrics useable for quilt and project piecing.
Unlike our foremothers who made quilts from garment scraps that were woven and made from natural fibers, our garments today are often created from knits and blends of assorted fibers. Rather than have them add to the overflowing landfills, learn ways to reuse them in your projects to create interest and texture. There will be demonstrations, guided practice, and time to start a project designed by and unique to you.
This workshop is for all skill levels and for modern and traditional quilters alike. Basic sewing and quilt cutting knowledge is a pre-requisite.
Based in Morton, Illinois, Julie’s Sewing Room helps makers of all levels and established organizations expand their knowledge, skills, and passion for textiles through educational resources and expert consulting.
